Universal Health Services’ Executive Vice President Matt Peterson Promoted to Brigadier General for Air National Guard, U.S. Air Force

Matt Peterson promoted to Brigadier GeneralKING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (November 1, 2022) — Universal Health Services, Inc. (NYSE: UHS), announced today that Matt Peterson, Executive Vice President and President, Behavioral Health Division, has been promoted to Brigadier General, Air National Guard (ANG), U.S. Air Force. The official pinning ceremony was held in Minnesota in October.

In addition to his civilian business career, Mr. Peterson has served for over 25 years with the ANG as a Healthcare Executive/Medical Service Corps Officer, and has held numerous leadership roles in Operations, Strategy, Policy, Global Health/International Affairs and Command. In his new role as Brigadier General, he acts as the Air National Guard Assistant to the Deputy Surgeon General of the United States Air Force. During his military career to date, he has deployed seven times in support of contingency operations and has significant experience running complex healthcare operations on five continents.

Matt Peterson promoted to Brigadier GeneralMr. Peterson is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a Fellow of the Healthcare Management Association (FHFMA) and currently serves as Board Chair for the National Association for Behavioral Health (NABH) for 2022. He earned his BBA in Financial Management from the University of North Dakota; his MBA in Finance from University of St. Thomas - Minneapolis; and his MHA in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota. A native of Bozeman, Montana, Mr. Peterson spent 30+ years in Minnesota; and currently resides in the Philadelphia region.
