Quality Awards and Other Achievements
The Acute Care Division facilities are dedicated to delivering quality care. This is reflected in the numerous awards and honors received for excellence in multiple specialties:
In 2025, 18 of the Acute Care Division’s 25 hospitals evaluated earned an “A” or “B” safety grade from The Leapfrog Group, recognizing our commitment to protecting patients from harm and to meeting the highest safety standards. They included: Doctors Hospital of Laredo (Texas), Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center (Texas), Henderson Hospital (Nevada), Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (Florida), Manatee Memorial Hospital (Florida), Northern Nevada Medical Center (Nevada), Sierra Medical Center, an Extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center (Nevada), South Texas Health System Edinburg (Texas), South Texas Health System Heart (Texas), Southwest Healthcare Corona Regional Medical Center (California), Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital (California), Southwest Healthcare Palmdale Regional Medical Center (California), Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs Hospital (California), Southwest Healthcare Temecula Valley Hospital (California), Summerlin Hospital Medical Center (Nevada), St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center (Oklahoma), Texoma Medical Center (Texas) and Valley Hospital Medical Center (Nevada).
As in the previous year, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center was among the Leapfrog Group’s 2025 Top Teaching Hospitals.- South Texas Health System and Texoma Medical Center earned U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 Best Regional Hospital and Best Regional Hospital for Community Access designations for McAllen Metro and Prairies and Lakes areas, respectively. This is the fourth consecutive time South Texas Health System earned the Best Regional Hospital award.
- In these same U.S. News & World Report 2025-2026 Best Hospital Rankings, 16 out of 23 Acute Care hospitals/health systems evaluated earned at least one High Performing designation. South Texas Health System earned the most (10 adult procedures/conditions), followed by Texoma Medical Center (eight adult procedures/conditions) and The George Washington University Hospital (six adult procedures/conditions and one specialty).
- Doctors Hospital of Laredo, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, Northern Nevada Medical Center, Sierra Medical Center, an Extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, South Texas Health System Edinburg, Southwest Healthcare Palmdale Regional Medical Center, St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Texoma Medical Center earned a 2026 Forbes Top Hospital designation.
- St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center was among Newsweek/Statista’s America’s Best-In-State Hospitals for Oklahoma. It also earned their America’s Best-In-State Hospitals Award for Patient Experience.
- Henderson Hospital, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, Southwest Healthcare Rancho Spring Hospital/Inland Valley Hospital, Texoma Medical Center and Wellington Regional Medical Center earned the Healthgrades® 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ for earning top scores across 14 patient safety indicators.

Cardiology/Stroke
- Healthgrades America’s 100 Best Hospitals Award™ for Coronary Intervention, the highest achievement the respected online platform offers across the cardiology service line
- Healthgrades Excellence Awards™ for Coronary Intervention and Top 3 in State Coronary Intervention Award
