Behavioral Health Division (inpatient, partial hospitalization, outpatient, residential and telehealth treatment programs)

The division continues to achieve positive outcomes and to be recognized for quality care:

  • UHS BH Medicare hospitals participate in CMS’ Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Quality Reporting Program (IPFQR) used by approximately 1,450 psychiatric providers across the U.S. to measure a broad set of evidence-based clinical practices linked to positive patient outcomes and are published on CMS’ Hospital Compare website. UHS BH hospitals’ aggregated results regularly exceed national averages for key metrics.
  • We collected more than 400,000 patient satisfaction surveys in 2025. On a five-point scale (1 being low and 5 being high), UHS patients rated their overall satisfaction during this period at 4.42
  • According to the 2025 patient satisfaction surveys, 90% reported feeling better after care, while 89% reported that they were treated with dignity and respect. Additionally, 89% report that their treatment goals and needs were met2.
  • We measure loyalty using the question, “How likely would you be to recommend this facility to a friend or family member?” In 2025, the UHS Behavioral Health Division’s Net Promoter Score was 45, which represents the percentage of promoters minus the percentage of detractors. This score is considered great by industry standards2.
  • Black Bear Lodge (GA), Calvary Healing Center (AZ), Foundations Minnesota (formerly PRIDE Institute) (MN), Skywood Recovery (MI), Talbott Recovery (GA), The Brook Hospital – KMI (KY) and The Ridge Behavioral Health System (KY) appeared on Newsweek/Statista’s America’s Best Addiction Treatment Centers 2025 list.
  • St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute received the 2026 Evernorth® Behavioral Health Center of Excellence designation for Eating Disorders.
  • Cygnet facilities consistently maintain our high standards across the portfolio. In 2025, 84% of its services evaluated earned an “Outstanding” or “Good’ rating by regulators.
