The Cannabis Epidemic

Note: This is a recording from a live presentation, hosted by the Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Learning Network in December 2021. Only attendees of the live presentation are eligible to receive a CE credit from this seminar.

Cannabis use has increased significantly in the US. This session will focus on the forces driving this rise in use, risk factors for the development of dependence, and outline the science related to cannabinoids. Risks, benefits, harms and dependence will be reviewed. Consequences of use, special risk categories and specific challenges related to cannabis use will be discussed. Approaches to screening and treatment of dependence will be outlined.

March 2024 — This seminar will address the challenges couples often grapple with during early recovery from substance use disorder, and discuss the interventions employed that aim to provide comprehensive support for sustained sobriety.

Mark also serves as Divisional Vice President at Universal Health Services.
