Raising Awareness of Suicide Prevention

During September, National Suicide Prevention Month, UHS’ Karen Johnson joined Federation of American Hospitals’ Chip Kahn in a podcast to discuss the impact the pandemic has had on individuals’ mental health, thoughts on how to reemerge back to society after lockdown, as well as effective resources developed by UHS and others in the industry to help prevent suicide.

Karen Johnson joined UHS in 1999 and serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer of its Behavioral Health Division. She also chairs the FAH’s Quality Committee to address patient safety and quality-related issues as they impact the nation’s hospitals. Further, Karen works with the National Association for Behavioral Health (NABH) on quality issues, and serves on the NABH Covid-19 Task Force.
