Universal Health Services, Inc. Publishes 2025 Annual Report

King of Prussia, PA (April 9, 2026) — Universal Health Services, Inc. (NYSE: UHS), one of the nation’s largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services, has published its 2025 Annual Report.
During 2025, through its network of subsidiaries, UHS served patients through 5.8 million encounters; employed approximately 101,500 individuals globally including nearly 26,000 nurses; invested $1 billion in equipment, facility expansions and renovations; and generated revenues of $17.4 billion, an increase of 9.7% over the prior year.
Additional highlights include:
- The Acute Care Division recorded more than 347,700 inpatient admissions, 1.7 million patient days and 1.7 million ER visits across its 29 Acute Care hospitals and 49 ambulatory locations, including 35 freestanding emergency departments (FEDs). The Division invested further in its physician network and continued to expand its Accountable Care Organization coverage with 200,000+ value-based care lives managed.
- The Behavioral Health Division recorded more than 473,000 admissions and served 6.5 million patient days across its 346 subsidiary facilities. The Division expanded to 119 outpatient locations and added 170 inpatient beds at new and existing facilities in the U.S. The Company’s Patriot Support Programs (PSP) provide a nationwide network of care for the military community, including more than 30 PSP-designated behavioral health facilities with services tailored for active-duty service members, veterans and their families.
- Amid a dynamic healthcare environment, UHS is driving innovation at scale by leveraging AI and advanced technologies to enhance quality, the patient experience and operational efficiency. Key initiatives include collaboration with General Catalyst, investment in Hippocratic AI for safety-centered AI development, expanded implementations of electronic health records in the Behavioral Health Division, use of advanced technologies to support improved revenue cycle operations, and the 2025 rollout of Agentic AI to improve post-discharge support and reduce readmissions.
