Next-Generation Hospital to Open in May 2026

King of Prussia, PA and Palm Beach Gardens, FL (April 30, 2026) — Business and community leaders, healthcare professionals and invited guests gathered on April 29 for the ceremonial ribbon-cutting of the Alan B. Miller Medical Center, a transformative new hospital set to open for patient care in May 2026. The ribbon-cutting event marks a significant milestone for the seven-story, 365,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, representing a nearly $430 million investment in the future of healthcare in Palm Beach County. Situated on a 34-acre campus, the hospital features 156 private patient rooms, including six suites, with capacity for future expansion as the community grows.

“This is an exciting moment for our organization, for our community and for the future of healthcare,” said Gina Melby, CEO of Alan B. Miller Medical Center. “From enhanced surgical capabilities to thoughtfully designed healing spaces, the hospital is setting a new standard for innovation and patient-centered healthcare in South Florida.”

Beyond patient care, the hospital will serve as an anchor for community health and economic development, creating more than 800 jobs and supporting local partnerships.

Named in honor of healthcare pioneer Alan B. Miller, Founder and Executive Chairman of Universal Health Services, Inc. (NYSE: UHS), the medical center reflects decades of leadership and innovation. Since founding UHS in 1979, Mr. Miller has grown the organization into one of the nation’s leading healthcare providers, with a longstanding presence across Florida.

“The Alan B. Miller Medical Center symbolizes both the personal legacy of my father and a transformative advancement for healthcare,” said Marc D. Miller, President and CEO of UHS. “It represents the realization of his vision – grounded in access, service, resilience and community impact. This hospital will serve as a destination for care, combining state-of-the-art technology, integrated services and a patient-centered environment designed to deliver the kind of care he has always said he would want for his own family.”

Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, attendees toured the new facility, experiencing firsthand the hospital’s advanced technology, thoughtful design and commitment to high-quality patient care.

“This is a remarkable day for me and my family,” said Alan B. Miller. “I got into the hospital business to help people. I never intended to be the biggest; I always wanted to be the best. I want our hospitals to treat patients the way I would want my own family treated, and I am confident the Alan B. Miller Medical Center team will deliver on that promise.”

Additional details regarding services, patient access and opening-day operations will be shared in the coming weeks.
